Dr. Curtin knew at an early age that he would choose a career in dentistry. Having grown up the son of a dentist, it seemed the natural choice to make. Dr. Curtin graduated from St John's Prep, received a B.S. in Biology from Providence College and went on to earn his D.M.D. from Boston University's Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry. After graduating from Dental School, he decided to further his education by completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Although he enjoyed his time in Philadelphia, he was glad to return to the North Shore and begin his career in private practice. Dr. Curtin spent several years as an associate dentist at West Somerville Dental Associates and Dr. Patrick Curtin D.D.S. in Salem, MA. In March of 1999, Dr. Curtin felt it was time to go out on his own and he purchased the practice of Dr. John Carbone D.D.S. here in Ipswich. Having spent time in Ipswich when he was growing up, made him realize that Ipswich would be the perfect town to own a dental practice.
Dr. Curtin has always been interested in the modern technology that is available to today's practitioners. He has worked hard to make sure that he and his staff stay well educated to be able to provide the latest advancements for his patients. He has been fortunate enough to take CE courses at The Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, AZ, and the Montana Center for Laser Dentistry in Whitefish, Montana. He enjoys seeing how excited his patients get when they see the advantages of modern dentistry.

Carla has been with Ipswich Smiles for over 10 years, and at one time she thought she would like to try dental assisting. Educating herself in the field and received her X-ray certification in 2009, she then realized that the business aspect of the dental industry, as well as interactions with patients at the front desk was where she really wanted to be.
Her work week entails: Scheduling patient appointments, billing, researching insurance benefits, and making sure the staff is well-equipped with all they need to care for patients. Her focus is keeping staff morale positive and upbeat especially during any challenging times.
She loves interacting with patients, and enjoys seeing the kids as they grow from one year to the next. Carla has a way of helping patients understand how their insurance benefits work, or easing their minds if they have had a prior dental experience, or were hesitant to continue with preventative dental care. She feels great when she sees how happy and calm patients are once they have come into the office knowing that they are on the right track.
Carla’s favorite things to do outside of work: Reading, biking, exercising, cooking, and spending time with family. She has been married for over 35 years, has 3 children and 4 grandsons. She also has a small lake home in NH and enjoys summers there with family.

Robin has been married for 35 years, has two children and three grand girls. She enjoys Aruba vacations, singing with Merrimack Valley Chorus, roller skating and family time with her husband Scott.
Dawn has been working in the industry as a Dental Assistant for the past 28 years. She started with Ipswich Smiles in 2018. She love spending time with her husband and 4 grandchildren. When not working, her and her husband enjoy vacations, working on their new home, tending to the garden and enjoying company. Dawn loves leisure time with her cat, Bella.
